New Castle, DE (December 31, 2007) – Dave Barr’s "Round The World" 1972 Harley-Davidson
leaves Mike’s Famous Harley-Davidson in Delaware on its journey to The Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum
in Pickerington, Ohio. Dave Barr, a two-time Guinness World Record holder and author, visited
Mike’s Famous on December 31, 2007 to take his motorcycle to it’s new home. His records include:
A motorcycle journey from the Breton Coast in France to Vladivostok, on the Pacific Coast of Russia,
covering 15,090 kilometers from December 8, 1996 to March 24, 1997 and the fastest and first motorcycle
journey between four extreme geographical points on the Australian mainland in forty five days from
October 6, 2002 and November 20, 2002. Dave is the only disabled person to accomplish this
feat as a double amputee. In 1981, he lost both his legs in active duty in Angola. Dave has ridden his 1972
Harley-Davidson around the world, across six continents, over three and a half years from 1990 to 1994,
covering 83,000 miles. He is the author of two books Riding The Edge and Riding The Ice chronicling his journeys.
The "Iron Cross Bike" Dave rode in his Guinness World Record Australian trip still resides at Mike’s Famous
Harley-Davidson in New Castle, Delaware.
